Core Values: Perseverance

trophy

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Romans 5: 3-5

At our January 28th Professional Development Day, we explored the core values we desire to permeate who we are at Kelowna Christian School. As a school, our students and staff strive to embed a deep understanding of these values and character qualities within our interactions with one another and when we work with and educate students.

Within the Student Support Services department, we believe it is a huge part of our role to support students to persevere through challenges and difficulties that may arise. We desire to support students and their families to push ahead despite obstacles and lean on and trust in God and his plan for all of us. We strive to be a community who supports and encourages one another when things are hard. We believe that perseverance produces character and helps us to grow.

 Perseverance is when...

"I am hopeful in God's plan. I persist through challenges and obstacles, as I pursue growth for both myself and for my community."

The K-12 educational journey can be compared to a long, hard race. A race with many different twists and turns; a race with different weather conditions beating us down or lifting us up; a race with intense highs and deep lows. It is our role, within the Student Support Services department to be a champion for all learners that God places within our care. We are excited to serve at Kelowna Christian School and we look forward to partnering alongside you on this journey of perseverance.
