Mission, Vision + Values

As a school we are devoted to expressing these commitments - not only through the education we provide - but also through the things we value and espouse.

OUR MISSION

We exist to educate, equip and inspire our school community to become disciples of Jesus who love and serve God and others.

OUR VISION

We seek to be a Christ-like community passionately transforming our world.

Our Core Values

  • BIBLICAL FOUNDATION

At KCS we take the Bible seriously. As the inspired Word of God, it’s the foundation of everything we do as a school - from our approach to education to relationships and discipline.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

  • PRAYER

We are a community committed to prayer. It’s a source of strength and an acknowledgement that we are utterly dependent on God and His purposes.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6 NIV

  • CREATIVITY

Confronted with a rapidly changing world, we believe students and staff must be creative and flexible in their approach to changing and new challenges.

"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." - Romans 12:2 NLT

  • EXCELLENCE

We don’t just mean high test scores. We mean students should strive to do well, and through encouragement and engagement achieve their personal best in a process of continuous improvement. Excellence at KCS means we push ourselves and our students to keep getting better using our best effort.

"Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us —I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving." - 2 Corinthians 8:7 NLT

  • PERSEVERANCE

True excellence requires an ongoing effort - perseverance and grit. A willingness to accept failure and use it as a springboard for continued effort. As a Christian school we acknowledge and want to develop the inclination to trust God to be there in the hard times.

"And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." - Romans 5:3-5 NASB

  • INTEGRITY

Acting with integrity means a willingness to make the right call even when no one sees it or whether it comes with a personal cost.

"The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them." - Proverbs 11:3
