I grew up in Calgary, Alberta with my mom, dad, and little sister. I attended a Christian school from Grade 1 all the way to Grade 12! When I started tutoring, teaching piano lessons and horseback riding lessons, everyone told me I should be a teacher, but I had other plans! After a year and a half of calculus and other introductory engineering classes in university, I finally submitted to God’s plan to become a teacher. After spending one day in an elementary classroom during an introductory teaching course, I broke down crying in the parking lot because I realized I had been resisting God’s calling in my life! I immediately switched to elementary education and am so glad I did!
I graduated from Burman University in Lacombe, Alberta in 2015 and immediately moved to Armstrong, B.C. to teach Kindergarten to Grade 4 in a multigrade classroom. In fact, this was the same classroom my grandma started her teaching career in! After lots of prayer, God opened the door to join the wonderful family at Kelowna Christian School in 2017.
I love learning and growing with my students! My favourite subjects are math and reading. In my class, we work together, make mistakes together, encourage each other, and learn together, all while discovering who we are in Christ.
