Come join us for our 2018 Annual Jazz & Java Café Fundraiser on Monday, March 12, 2018 (7pm-9pm) at the Kelowna Christian School Middle & High School campus (2870 Benvoulin Road). Enjoy an evening of specialty beverages, desserts and wonderful Jazz, Blues and Rock performances from the KCS Gr. 8-12 bands and our special, 17-piece headlining guests - The Dreamland Band!
A silent auction will also be hosted during the evening. Come prepared to take home some great, quality local items. All donations and proceeds from the evening will benefit the KCS Music Program to replace aging instruments and equipment, and help subsidize costs for educational performance tours. THE DREAMLAND BAND
The sounds of the Big Band are being kept alive in the Okanagan with The Dreamland Band’s 17 piece group featuring five saxes, four trumpets, four trombones, guitar, bass and drums. From jazz to pop to the famous big band arrangements of the 30’s and 40’s and the modern sounds of big bands of today, the Dreamland Band brings these to the audience, including many original arrangements and compositions written by the band’s lead Alto Sax player Mr. Malcolm Green. Under the band’s leader, Mr. Reg Tomiye, the Dreamland Band has performed for concerts, conventions, weddings and Ballroom Dance Galas. The Dreamland Band has had many guest vocalists performing with the band including Mr. Robert Fine (Mr. Sinatra Guy), Miss Alisa Parker, Mr. Gary Cable and Mr. Paul Moore (Opera Tenor).
